We think our clients have great taste.

But don’t take our word for it.

Have a look yourself.

Honoring the family’s southwestern heritage with texture, color, and family heirlooms

Photography: ModernMagic

This kitchen began with an irregularly shaped peninsula (best described as Florida-shaped—our most innocent comparison), metal support posts, wall-spanning kitchen desks, and dated wine storage. The cabinetry itself, however, was in great condition, so I chose to reface what could be saved while updating the countertops, backsplash, and hardware for a fresh but thoughtful transformation.

I removed the awkward peninsula and outdated desks, opening up the space for a beautiful counter-height table with statement legs and a multifunctional bar area—perfect for guests to grab a beer, kids to charge their iPads, and everyone to keep their coffee close at hand.

In the dining room, I softened the space by micro-cementing over a heavy brick wall and adding a custom limestone mantel, giving the fireplace a fresh Southwestern feel.

Our carpenter updated the shelving with modern arches, and I layered in a woven chandelier, vintage velvet chairs, and reframed heirloom artwork to complete the look.

Downstairs, I leaned into a moody palette for the lower-level TV room, pairing dark walls and warm wood flooring with a bold mustard-yellow sectional. A dedicated bar makes it an ideal spot for those all-important Sunday game afternoons.

Upstairs, I fully gutted the primary bathroom, introducing beautifully patterned tile and a wood vanity to create a calm yet inspiring oasis for the morning routine.

Throughout the home, I reveled in incorporating family heirlooms collected over time as the final layers came together. (Can you spot the carved dog made decades ago by our client’s grandfather?)

JULIAN WAY

This project was a joyful fusion of the homeowner’s rustic Oklahoma roots and his deep love of music.

This homeowner was looking to upgrade his builder white box into a space great for entertaining — whether it was for poker night, a jam session, or a place to hang out and watch the OU football games. We packed personality into each space here, bringing in moody wall colors, fun materiality, and furniture that fit the spaces perfectly.

Then we styled it with plants, art, and bold accessories. Now friends come over and are wowed as soon as they walk through the door. One thing he didn’t expect - how cozy and comfortable he is as soon as he steps inside from a long day at work.  It’s the perfect place to unwind.

Rose medical office

Answering the call for a patient oasis, we celebrated our love for nature.

Photography: Amanda Proudfit

Renowned Denver plastic surgeon Dr. Aycock came to me with a clear vision: design a space that feels welcoming and elevated while easing any pre-surgery anxieties. Knowing how important natural elements are to calming the nervous system and wanting to counteract the “windowless office” vibe, I focused on bringing in as much of a nature-inspired sensibility as possible.

A floor-to-ceiling fluted white oak feature wall, natural stone tables, and a hand-painted floral mural create an immediate “wow” moment at check-in—setting a calming, refined tone from the very first impression.

Dr. Aycock is an art lover, so we spent extra time curating pieces that celebrate what we love most about Colorado—its landscapes, color, and the quiet, zen moments that come from slowing down and appreciating what’s already around us.

Because art was the primary design focus, I took a more edited approach to styling, emphasizing sculptural vessels over live plants in response to the space’s limited natural light.

All of these elements resulted in an environment ideal for Dr. Aycock’s patients, but just as importantly one that brings health an wholeness to her and her staff.

COLUMBINE STREET

We transformed this space from toddler-friendly to a teenage hangout and adult retreat. Keeping the fun alive every step of the way.

This family wanted a basement that could keep up with their active lifestyle — and then some. We added a ping pong table, a sprawling, loungy sectional, and a small gym, but the real showstopper quickly became the bar. The design took on a playful, “campy” vibe that makes you want to throw on a flannel and beanie, grab a guitar, and stay awhile.

Upstairs, the adults requested an equally stylish upgrade. Their large dining room received a touch of drama with painted walls and a wallpapered ceiling that highlighted its architectural details. We created a cozy seating area in front of the fireplace, transforming the space into an intimate gathering spot usually reserved for smaller rooms. The living room and kitchen nook also received fun wallpaper accents, tying the home together with personality, warmth, and a touch of whimsy.

LAREDO STREET

This is what happens when you’re a young family with timeless sensibilities and an old soul.

The homeowners came to me with a heartfelt request: to transform their house into a home they truly loved. They wanted to celebrate antique pieces passed down through generations while creating a cohesive, functional space for their young family.

We installed hardwood floors and wainscoting, selected head-turning wallpaper, added custom built-ins, and curated timeless furniture, lighting, and art that honored their family’s roots.

While the design leans traditional, playful touches and whimsical accessories bring youthfulness and energy to the home.

Today, they walk into a space that not only feels beautiful but enhances the flow and energy of their daily life. Their two young children will grow up making lasting memories in a home that is both refined and full of life.

36th Place

This family was ready for a major kitchen upgrade

Lead Designer: Kate Bendewald | Photography: Daniel Scott Jenkins

I was beyond thrilled when Denver designer Kate Bendewald asked me to assist her on a project for clients near and dear to her heart. They had come to her asking to reimagine their kitchen which was ready for an upgrade. They wanted a place for friends and family to gather so we dove into flow studies - thinking through all the zones they could possibly need for cooking, cleaning, gathering, crafting, coffee’ing. It all has a place now.

We designed custom cabinetry in beautiful deep green around the perimeter with a soapstone countertop.

For the island we went with a deep stained walnut cabinet and paired with with beautiful quartzite - a workhorse of a stone, but beautiful just as much as it is functional.

We paired these materials with a fun mosaic tile in deep blue and tongue and groove paneling - giving this kitchen a warm and welcoming aura. We finished off the space with art, pottery, and stoneware to set the mood.

Today, they walk into a kitchen that not only feels beautiful but enhances the flow and energy of their daily life.
